Why does Crysis lag on high or very high spec?

Computer: Asus Maximus Formula Crossfire, QX9650, Dual HD3870 in Crossfire mode, 4GB of RAM, Vista 32 (Reports 3GB of RAM available), Dual 500GB HD RAID 1 off motherboard with Intel Storage Matrix. Both MS KB patches applied, Crysis 1.1 patch applied. Monitor - 2560x1600 (although the same is true if I run at 800x600).

This, while not being nVidia(hello, unstable), should be a kick *** system to run crysis with. Anyone have a secret "It's ok, he's running ATI, but we'll be nice" switch I can use to launch Crysis? Why does Crysis lag on high or very high spec?
It's simple. Your high specs just aren't high enough for Crysis... It IS Crysis, after all... You need at least an Nvidia 8 Series to run that thing... as for Nvidia, mine runs perfectly fine...Why does Crysis lag on high or very high spec?
Because it's Crysis. Go here

and see how your framerates are compared to the ones they get at the same settings and resolutions with their 3870 crossfire setup. Only thing running Crysis faster than your setup at the ultra-high resolutions right now is the 3870X2 and even it lags at very high. There are 12 settings with Vista. Some don't have a lot of effect on frame rates or visuals. You can set them even at medium then set the ones that make it better for you at high or very high. Nothings running fast frame rates at very high at the higher resolutions. By the way. if you run into probs at it hanging up at checkpoints where it takes 10 mins to move on or goes back into Windows reinstall Crysis without the patch 1.1. Seems to be a prob resulting from the patch. My rig used to hang. I reinstalled it with the patch and after a while it started to do the same thing. Then I read in a forum where the patch was the culprit. I reinstalled it without the patch and the prob went bye bye. AA4 is basically unplayable at higher resolutions. Althou 2560X1600 is too high for Crysis you should be rocking at 800X600. May want to experiment with drivers if you can't get faster frame rates dropping your resolutions.

Also see here where they're talking about running with a 30 inch monitor but , more important, at 2560X1600 resolutions on the 3870X2 which is faster than your crossfire "(don't even think about playing Crysis)"

If you read the forums Crysis does run better with 64bit Vista. Why you put 32bit in a rig like yours is beyond me.Why does Crysis lag on high or very high spec?
Not enough specs. Just make a new system with 3 8800 gtx's or ultra and that will work.

tri-sli is only for 8800 gtx or ultra not some cheap 8800 gt's.
